How the course is structured The Full Time Course is run over a 4 week period from Monday-Friday. Most input sessions take place at the Training Centre in Bangkok and last for a total of five-and-a-half hours. Excursions, an integral part of the course, are also organised to a number of different locations and, in some cases, may take the entire day. The full cost of these excursions is included in the course fees. The Classroom Sessions Classroom sessions are taught by qualified teacher trainers and last for five-and-a-half hours. The format of a typical classroom session will consist of a mixture of lectures and interactive discussions. A sample course outline is available here. Excursions An important part of any teacher training course is a healthy practical element. Over the period of the course, you will get the opportunity to see teachers in action in the classroom. These visits will be at schools, universities or companies where classes are taking place and you will get to see how students and teachers interact in a real classroom setting. For each excursion, you will observe at least one lesson, interact with the students on an informal basis and chat to the teacher or teachers involved about their teaching experience. The excursions are focused on a particular kind of teaching experience and are accompanied by a task relating to the teaching styles and methods involved. Teaching Practice Over the course, you will practice teaching a variety of classes under supervision of the tutors. These practice teaching sessions are invaluable to your training as a teacher. There are three different kinds of teaching practice opportunities you will have over the course, each under supervision. The sessions give you the opportunity to get feedback on your teaching from the tutor and try your hand at a variety of different styles and approches to teaching. More information about these different types of teaching practice work can be found by clicking on this link. Assessment & Certificate In order to pass the course, and receive your certificate, there are certain criteria which must be met. In addition to attending all of the input sessions, you will be required to submit written assignments over the period of the course, and to teach a minimum of 6 hours of supervised lessons. Receiving the certificate and passing the course is also subject to the Terms & Conditions of Study. Do you have any questions? Send us a message! We are here to help!
